Itahari, Feb 13: A total of 331 students graduating various medical streams as MBBS, BDS, MSc nursing, MDS, MPH, BSc, MLT, MLIT, and BN under the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences attended the 12th convocation ceremony on Saturday.
The 22 year old BPKIHS has so far produced 3,365 medical persons, according to Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Balabhadra Das.
Currently, there are 1,634 students including 242 foreign ones on the residential study.
BPKIHS' products essential for country: PM Oli
On the occasion, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has expressed confidence that doctors and other medical persons produced by the BPKIHS named after eminent leader BP Koriala would devote to people's service with excellence and expertise.
He said he was happy to find the report that it has produced many skilled human resources needed for the country.
On the occasion, chief guest Vice-Chancellor of KLE University of Karnataka, India, Dr CK Kokte lauded the role of BPKIHS on producing doctors essential for people's service.
Meanwhile, PM Oli inaugurated a rehabilitation centre constructed at the BPKIHS at the cost of Rs 50 million on Saturday itself.
The centre was set up in a bid to provide residential health service to those injured during the Maoist-led insurgency.
The two-storey building has 25 beds. For the residential treatment of injured ones, the centre has the medical implements worth Rs 21 million.
